Injecting INTRON® A at Home

Convenience, confidence, commitment

After the first month of daily treatment, you will only need three regular injections (not infusions) of INTRON® A each week.

If you and your health care team decide that injecting INTRON® A on your own is right for you, you will receive training, usually from a nurse, and educational materials. You will learn every step of the process, including how to dispose of needles safely. Some people choose to bring a family member or friend for this training also, so you have some help at home. Over time, doing your injections at home usually becomes routine.

Ask your doctor or nurse for injection instructions you can take home with you, to help you remember everything you need to do.

Remember:

  • Keep INTRON® A in the refrigerator until you are ready for an injection.
  • Always dispose of needles properly, in a closed, hard-sided container, to prevent other people from accidental sticks.
  • Keep all syringes, needles, and medicine away from children.

Every Dose Matters

Every dose of INTRON® A is important to your health. Once you make the commitment to go through a full course of treatment, keep careful track of your injections. If you miss a dose, talk to your doctor or nurse right away. Don't make dosing adjustments on your own.

You can even take INTRON® A with you when you travel. Ask your health care team for a Travel Kit.
